In partnership with CRKA, a UK based charity, Naya Qadam went on a fact finding mission to Sarishabari, in the district of Jamalpur in Bangladesh.
During the first visit in February 2016, an orthopaedic fracture and back pain clinic was established there. Several patients visited the centre, coming from all age groups, including paediatric and elderly female patients. They were reviewed and examined – for some patients, operation procedures were carried out.
Naya Qadam returned in summer 2016, where they set up a limb fitting camp.
Most recently, in February 2017, the team returned to Bangladesh, and manufactured prostheses for the local population in Sarishabari and Dhaka, fitting around 70 prosthetic limbs.
